Centuries ago, followers of Christ were persecuted. Persecuted by the Romans, even by the Jews. And not just persecuted, they were martyred left and right, their religion illegal. During the time of the "Desert Fathers", ascetic Christians dwelled in the monasteries far away from civilization, the wilds of Egypt. But it wasn't before long that the Roman Empire made Christianity legal, acceptable, its new imperial religion. The last of these Desert Fathers pined for the days of old, when they suffered for Christ, were spat on and despised.
Fast forward a few centuries to the present day and you see the exact same thing happening, only this time it is the homosexuals who are persecuted, by non other than "Christians". The "Christians" complain of how it will ruin so much for homosexuals to be given equal stature that they have. Would it not be more Christ like to suffer these slings and arrows, to carry the cross as they say, of these "bad things"? Would it not prove the greater to practice your religion without the aid of secular law?
